Some basics details required for registration under the Act are as follows:
The Indian government has recently introduced several business schemes and revised the definition of MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprise). To streamline the registration process and reduce time consumption, the government launched the Udyam Registration Portal, which is a new way for businesses to register for MSME or Udyog Aadhaar.
The main goal of introducing Udyam registration is to make it easier for small-scale businesses to register under MSME. This new process replaces the old Udyog Aadhaar registration process, which was confusing and time-consuming due to the multiple categories and pages to go through. The old process also required a lot of paperwork and the uploading of documents on the portal. In contrast, Udyam registration is a single-window, paperless process that does not require any additional documents or certificates for registration under MSME.
According to the Reserve Bank of India's Master Circular on lending to the MSME sector, dated July 1, 2010, banks can provide a composite loan limit of Rs. 1 crore to enable MSME entrepreneurs to access both working capital and term loan requirements through a Single Window. Scheduled commercial banks were instructed in the circular RPCD.SME&NFS. BC.No.102/06.04.01/2008-09, dated May 4, 2009, to also provide working capital (WC) limits along with term loans in order to avoid delays in the commencement of commercial production and ensure that there are no cases where term loans have been approved but working capital facilities are still pending. These instructions were reiterated to scheduled commercial banks on March 11, 2010.
